Analytical Data Warehouse

2002-2005 We develop a data warehouse for a major Austrian bank to support their cross selling business activities.

The requirement: The first production version of the data warehouse is already available after one month of development. It is based on an Oracle database and runs on Unix. A comprehensive cost analysis and a "Proof of Concept" are conducted by the customer in order to compare the recommended solution with the one used thus far (based on a mainframe system). The assessment falls in favor of the Oracle/Unix version recommended by us. The decisive factors for this are the much lower development and maintenance costs when compared to the mainframe based system.

The result: The Oracle-based solution becomes the standard for all future business intelligence solutions within the company. The analytical data warehouse will be comprehensively further developed and will become the base for a context based customer reference system.
